Rigby Triathlon

We got the results in the Post Register today!
Craig got 1:32:41!!!
Way to go Craig!!

Craig has done another Triathlon. Today he participated in the Rigby Tri. He beat his old time by almost a half an hour. He had a good time and really seems to love doing this. We are very proud of his dedication and ability. He always gives 100% and we love him for it!!
Way to go Craig!!!

This picture originally had Craig in it but he had just hit the Finish sign with his hand and also a high five to some guy and his hands were in the process of coming down so he looked kind of funny. So this is all you get to see. Sorry!

This is Craig and his friend from work, K.J. Johnson.
This was K.J.'s first Triathlon and he did very well.

Peace

For anyone that ever looks at my Blog you may notice I changed my music to piano music by Paul Cardall and a few others. I made myself a goal a few weeks ago to only listen to church music or songs without lyrics. I have noticed a big difference in the way I feel. I am more calm and relaxed. That is huge for those that know me well. I find that I don't get short with the kids when this music is on and that I just simply feel happier about life in general. So anyone suffering from my same problems may want to try this for a week and see if you feel any better.
I think it all comes down to the fact that even though there is a lot of good music out there, ask yourself how often that just simply keeping your mind so focused on the wrong music (good or bad) do we miss out on gentle promptings. The spirit is always there to comfort us but we have to be willing to listen. I don't know about you but I am guilty of the loud music on in my car constantly and I am very guilty of cussing out cars around me. Since I stopped playing the other music I have been very calm while driving. Things don't irritate me like they did before. Anyway I will stop writing now but just wanted to give you something to think about. I'm sure you are all much more under control than I am. Have a great day!!!!!

Alexys in Sound Generation

This is a great performance by Alexys' music group The Sound Generation. They performed for about 15 minutes and I was very unprepared and only had enough tape for the first 7 minutes. Anyway hope you enjoy. By the way I couldn't get the video off my camera so I had to use my regular camera to get it off the T.V. SORRY!
I am going to get them to do this again during class so I can get the whole thing on film. Then it will be a better quality.

(And don't forget to turn off my playlist so you are not hearing two songs at the same time.)

When it Rains it Storms

Do you sometimes get the feeling that you are being tested? I have gotten that feeling a few times these last few weeks. It all started when I came home from a weekend getaway with Craig. The first little thing was that my blow dryer would not turn on. Only two years old and it's dead. Not so big a deal. Then my DVD VCR recorder will not let me put in a tape. Only used the tape side one time to record home video off onto a DVD. Little more of a problem than the last since now I can't finish my recording project. Then I went to cook dinner and the bottom oven of my stove won't ignite. The top oven heated up but the bottom stayed cold. Bigger problem for a mom that likes to cook. I have tried to stay positive about all these little things but I am getting a bit annoyed. Then Sat. Craig couldn't get the lawn mower to start. But thanks to my brother it is now running and I pray it stays that way.

NO! I am still not finished. You all know of the roof issue from my last post. We had another huge wind storm come through yesterday. It tore off over 30 shingles and ripped up more than that that are still attached to the roof. And yesterday morning I had a problem with my brakes and thankfully stopped before I ran into the house with the car. So that is now getting fixed.

I know there have been a few more little things that my brain is refusing to think about but the only thing I can say is I am thankful that my family is still happy and safe! I know that there are times when you feel like there is no end in sight of the little annoyances we live with but when at the end of the day you can still kiss your family good night then it must have been a good day.

I love you all and hope you will have a good day today!!

Katie and her heart stopping week!

We started off our Sunday morning with the sound of Craig's treadmill turning on at full speed and hearing Katie scream as she was thrown into the wall. She was then turned over and over again until I (Debi) could get to her running at full speed in my high heels. To say the least we were all very shaken for a while but she luckily walked away with only a minor scrape on her cheek and elbow.

Now she topped that one today!!!

The wind has been blowing like crazy here for a few days and we had some shingles come off. Craig our hero/handyman went up on the roof to fix them.

Craig had gotten on to the roof through an upstairs window but had closed it almost all the way. Katie decided to try to follow Craig. She pushed a chair up to the window and proceeded to shimmy the window open till she could squeeze through. Craig is tied to a rope so not really able to get around quickly. I was in the kitchen and I heard this in a very loud voice," Katie! Stop! Noooo Stop!" I ran up the stairs to find her but somehow Craig had gotten there like superman!

He ran across the roof after somehow uniting himself to get to her within a few seconds. When she had gotten on to the roof she was on the part that is only a little steep but then decided to try to get to Craig by stepping onto the very steep part. About like this slash /. Craig looked over and saw her start to teeter towards the edge and when he yelled she turned to look at him and it made her fall towards the window area again. So when she landed she was sitting with her feet out in front of her on the part of the roof that is not very steep.

She did scrape up her leg a bit but she most assuredly has an angel with her because she did not fall. We are counting our blessings right now because tonight could have gone very different.

Still Shaking over that one!!!!!!!!
