Our Anniversary!!

May 20, 1995

So today we are celebrating 15 years.

I thought I would put up a few pictures from when we first met and our wedding day.

This first one is our first date!! So funny to look at.

Yes we went to Prom for our first date. =)

We had a great time and made lots of funny memories.

One being we rode in the back of an old Chevy blazer and sat on the spare tire on our way to dinner and the dance.

No I'm not kiddding!

We also had to climb out the back through the window and then it started to rain on our way inside. =) I laughed so hard that night!

We were so young!!

I must say after everything we have been through there is no logical reason for us to still be together. Statistics were against us from the beginning.

Married young, death of a child, infertility, and multiple other sorrows we have had...

I guess we are just either very stubborn or in love.

I think it's probably a lot of both.

I love you Craig and I would never want to go through life with anyone else by my side.

Family Picture Time

So we took on the frustrating task of trying to get a good family picture. As many of you know that can be very trying. And for anyone that has met Katie you can imagine just how impossible it can be to get a good one of everyone. So anyway we went to the river bottoms and also our back yard. The wind and lighting was not on our side but I think we got some nice ones. We are wanting to make one of the family shots into a very large print so...

MY HAIR!!!!

So I decided I wanted to go very short again. But I still wanted to donate to a place like Locks of Love. Anyway I didn't have 10 inches to give yet so I am donating to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. It's just like Locks of Love but they only need 8 inches and I think they also give to women not just kids. SO in order to get the 8 inches I had to put my hair up in these silly pony tails all over my head. Then I gave Craig a ruler and some scissors and said go for it.

Well here are the before and after shots of the long vs. short pony tails but now I am going to trust Craig to try and trim it up nice enough to get me through the weekend.

I will post more pictures to show you the final look when it looks presentable.

O.K. So Craig did a surprisingly good job on the back of my hair. I wanted to have a bit in the back to flip up just at the neck line but in order to get the entire 8 inches in the back we had to cut it almost right at the hairline. So it will grow out to the style I was thinking of. For now this is good with me. I may take more off the top later. It's a bit big.

Our Squirt

Well most of you that know me know that I love animals. I just can't help myself. What some of you don't know is that we have 2 dogs, a cat and 2 birds. Well a few weeks ago our beautiful yellow Budgie named Squirt hurt her leg somehow. She seemed to be healing and using it more every day. But I guess she wasn't. The last two days she has slept most of the time and shortly after I put Katie on the bus today she passed away. I know this may not seem like a big deal to some but I will probably cry for the next two weeks over this. I don't know why but these silly little creatures just make me happy and I hate it when they leave me.I buried her in the back yard and made her a little rock monument. Silly to you but not to me. It makes me feel better.
I never was able to get a good picture of her. I found this look-a-like of her but my Squirt was even prettier than this one. She was always so timid and sweet and I hope her friend Sprite will not miss her too much. Anyway here is that picture and under it is one from today of Sprite. Love your pets even if they are just silly birds.

This is a pretty bird but Squirt was just a bit prettier. She looked a lot like Sprite but all yellow with a little bit of white along her cheeks and at the tips of her wings. I'll miss you little friend.

I still think she's cute though. Why do I have to get so attached to them?

So I am always taking pictures with my phone when I forget my other camera. But we all know that most phones don't take great pictures. Anyway here are a few that actually turned out O.K. Some are from a long time ago and some are from just a few weeks ago.

Hair Cut

So it was time for Katie to get another hair cut. I went a bit longer this time but she seems to love it. When her hair gets too long it tends to look stringy and it get tangles in it. Now I only hope she doesn't try doing it herself. Oh well I guess if she does. It will grow back right? She was so excited to go to school and show everyone her new look. She is such a ham!!
