7 Days in Park City

We just spent 7 days in Park City. It rained most of the time but was still beautiful. Maybe more so because of it. We did a lot of swimming and shopping.=) Once we came back to our room and a man in the hall commented on how much fun we were having while shopping because we had so many bags in our hands. We did get a lot of Christmas shopping done.
Well here are a lot of pictures. Enjoy!!
This is the first thing Alexys saw when we got to the resort.
She slept the last half our of our ride.
We stayed at the Marriott Mountainside. It is a great place right on the ski slopes. If you get a chance to ever stay there do it.

In our room.
Katie is always playing football by herself but this time she used her little weeble toys as a line up. Funny girl! =)

A mine car on display. Katie thought it was cool.
This is Main street Park City.
Such a cool looking town with all it's old architecture.
And right on the mountain side so it also feels a lot like a mini San Fransisco.
There must have been some sort of Porche show or just a gathering of owners because we saw these things everywhere. All of them looked like they were from the 50 or 60's. I thought they were pretty cool. Does anyone know what their years are?

This one was the first one we saw and it was also my favorite.
The people driving it were laughing as we passed by and I was taking their picture.

My new moose friend. I thought his smile was funny.

Alexys and her new friend.

And Katie having a conversation with her new friend.

This is a view of some of the pools at the condo. They are heated year round. They had waterfalls that connected most of them. It was a pretty place.

Night swimming.

Rainy day swimming!

Here are the pictures of our train ride through Provo Canyon.
This is when we had just taken off from the train station.
This is just before we took off. She was waiting very patiently.

This is when we started to move. She laughed pretty hard.

Alexys laughing for I don't know what reason.

Me taking my own picture so I could prove I really exist.=)

Alexys and my Mom. Grandma Housley.
My parents are the ones that took us on this great vacation.
Thanks Mom and Dad!!!!!!!

Alexys and my Dad.

Relaxing up the canyon. The ride lasted 3 hours. So we had a lot of time to just kick back.

We realized about 45 minutes into the ride that our windows opened so we were hanging our heads out the window.
Provo Canyon fall colors. I wish I had my nice camera back.
These picture don't do the colors justice.

Cool train.

Well this is the end of the tracks I guess. Thanks for stopping by to see a week in our life.
Have a great week yourself!!

Park City

These are pictures of places I have not been to but would love to go to in the fall some day. Vermont or anywhere back East. They are just breath taking.=)

We are getting to stay in Park City this week with my Mom and Dad.
Craig had to stay home. =( I wish he could have come with us but I guess someone has to be responsible. =) Anyway we are staying in a great condo and are just relaxing right now. If you have any ideas on fun inexpensive things to do up this way leave me a comment about it. We will be here all week. I hope you are all finding fun things to do for Spud Harvest. I'm sorry if you don't get to play for Harvest or if you just don't get one. Because they ROCK!! Have a great week. I'll post pictures next week. =)

September and Football.

September seems to be flying by. With working and just life in general it seems there is never enough time. We have done a few fun things this month so far. For Labor Day weekend we went up into the mountains and camped. If you can call it that. My parents got a motor home and we were lucky enough to get to use it. We watched movies and played cards and I cooked on the stove. Not really camping but still we were in the mountains. =)

Alexys loves to pull the faces for the camera. I think she picked that up from her cousins.

Craig and Katie snuggling for a second. It never last much more than that with Katie. She is on the go a lot.

Katie was playing football by herself. She does this then picks up the ball and runs with it a ways then drops to the ground on her back. Then she stands up and cheers.
We think it's pretty funny.=)

This past week at school was homecoming. They have Powder Puff football for the girls. Alexys got to be the quarterback for the Sophomore team. She did a pretty good job.
She is the number 95. That is Craig's old football jersey form high school.

Here she is running a play.
They lost 12-6 to the Juniors but it was still a good game. She really did do a good job.
Just for your info our boys won their game that night 28-8. I love my Cougars!!

Well I will post the rest of September later. That is if we do anything worth posting.
Have a great rest of your summer!!
Bring on Fall!!!

No Camera =(

O.K. so I no longer have a camera. It just has never shown up. I still am keeping my hopes high for it's return but we will just have to see. So I guess for now my Blog post are not going to be super interesting unless I can capture something good with my phone.
So School started Monday for me and the girls. Alexys of course is a Sophomore and Katie is a 3 grader. She loves school. She is almost potty trained. We get closer every day. I think it will take a few months before it is a habit for her. She is always happy and in her own little make believe world. How lucky for her right?
Alexys still doesn't complain about school but give it a few months into it and I'm sure it will happen.=) She loves her choir classes and Seminary. She also seems to like all her Teachers this year. I hope her friends stay cool. That is always my concern though. She seems to always do the inviting and never gets invited. Oh well she stays positive about it. I also am afraid it's because she doesn't want to ask for money to go do stuff too. Why can't all teenagers do stuff that doesn't cost anything!!! Her friends are wonderful people and I hope they can all stay close this year.
I started my job at the High School Life Skills room. I love those kids and the Ladies I am working with are wonderful. I have high hopes for this job and the year to come. Craig is always busy and for that we are grateful. I wish we could fast forward to three years from now for his sake but for now I am going to try and encourage all of us to enjoy each other because Alexys will be leaving for college in three years and then what?? We are on a three year plan for our bills and we are really trying our hardest to be debt free. Wish us luck!!
I love my family and am truly blessed. May I never forget that for too long.=)
Thanks for stopping in!!

Sophomore Year Pictures!!

I took Alexys and her friend Alyssa our after they registered for their Sophomore year of High School to get some pictures. We spent about 4 hours going to different places and getting over 400 pictures. We narrowed it down to about 100 total that we liked. We had fun and the girls got to show just how beautiful they are. I think we had more pictures of them being goofy but I am posting mostly the glamour shots. I am going to try and get some good shots of Katie tonight and maybe even make Craig pose for me. Wish me luck!!

This is my first ever attempt at Photo Shop. It will be fun to see what else I can figure out on that complex program. Is it just me or is it harder than it should be?
Probably just me.=)

This was fun to do but very frustrating at the same time.
I loved their eyes in both pictures.

They are so beautiful!!
♥ We really did have a lot of fun!! =) ♥

Our Life

So today marks us as only two weeks left of our Summer vacation. So crazy!! Yesterday I started with Katie again on potty training. She seems more ready this time around. I hope for my sanity and her well being that it gets done fast.=) If today goes well she gets to go pick out a new package of underpants. right now we only have 4 pairs and so I hope that will give her some incentive to do well today. I do feel like a broken record but that is the only way to get through to her. After hearing it 600 times she looks at me like "Why didn't you say that in the first place?" Gotta love her!
We also sold our cute little Toyota Camry. I was sad to see it go. We had owned that car longer than any other car. 7 years. Silly I know.
Last night(Monday) we went down to Rexburg to watch the Dance Festival Parade. It was not as good to me this year. We didn't get to see any of the dances. Oh well.
On Sunday after church we took our Toyota out for one last spin up to Kelley Canyon. We hiked to the top of a mountain and viewed the valley out past Ririe and Idaho Falls. Very pretty area we live in. And of course no camera to capture it with.
Well enjoy your last hurrahs of Summer!!!

Our Last 2 Weeks of July

We love July!! With July 4 at the beginning and July 24 at the end there is never a time to be bored. I was NOT in charge of this years float for the parade so I was able to watch the parade this year. The first time in three years!! I'm glad because we finally got a visit from Katie's Grandma and Grandpa Lofgreen and her 3 brothers Justin, Nathan, and Jacob.
They drove all the way from Indiana. A couple of them came to Alexys' play and the rest went to the rodeo. A first time experience for all of them. It was fun to see them again. I wish there wasn't such a huge distance between us so we could see them more often. It just costs so much to go that far.=(
Here are some pictures of Katie and her brothers with Alexys. They all got along very well.
Jacob(13) Justin(18) Katie(8) Nathan(16) Alexys(15)
Great bunch!! I wish they could be closer.

I wash shocked at how tall they all had gotten since 6 years ago.

So Alexys did the play again this year. It was called Once Upon A Mattress.
They all did a great job.
Here are a couple pictures from Saturday afternoons performance.

This is Alexys left and her friend Natalie right. They were the nightingales.
They were also Lady's in waiting. But this part they had to try to sing the princess to sleep. They really do blend well together.

This is the end of the play when the King gets his voice back.

This is the bows at the end. They bowed as Lady's and then as Birds.

On Tuesday before all of this our friends the Rawsons came up from California. Minus Jerry.
They came to our house for the afternoon and to see Alexys in the play that evening.
We took the kids to the Sand Bar. It was a bit strange because we got there and the water was so low that it wasn't even going over the waterfall. You could see rocks in the center of the river. Pretty weird. And then while we were still there it started to rise and came back to where it should be. They must have been working on something.
ANYWAY!!
It took Katie a while for her to want to get in the water but after she did she loved it. And no we are not Hannah Montana fans. I had to buy this vest once when we had forgotten hers and this day Alexys had taken the Suburban and her other vest was in there. Not that anyone cares.
I love these kids!
Ashten, Emma, Zack, Sam
Hope I spelled your names right...
She looks like a little frog here.=)

Well I hope you all have a great rest of your summer.
We are heading up to West Yellowstone for the evening to see Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. My parents are taking all of us. If I get pictures at all I will post them later.
BYE!
