Saturday afternoon at the Womack house.

Craig Alexys and Katie decided to have a bit of fun. Well mostly Craig and then the other two didn't have much choice. =) Here are the pictures of Craig and his girls. ♥
He had been running from Alexys before this because he had taken her cell phone taken out the battery and hid it. (That's how you get your teenage daughters attention.)
She finally got it back but then he trapped her in the hall and these are the results.
It looks as if she could have gotten away but unless you know Craig.....
♥I love my Family!!♥
So as she got her phone put back together he tripped her an then somehow manged to get her on his back. Katie thought that looked like fun so she had to get on too.

She tried to get up from the horse back ride and he was not having it.
So up she went.

Craig was trying to get Katie up onto Alexys shoulders.
Alexys was yelling "no, I'm falling!"

Katie trying to get in on the fun again.
She is so strong!

She is a good sport. She always makes life fun.
She gets that from her dad. =)

Then he escaped out the front door.
All you could hear was Alexys screaming "Not outside!!" and then lots of laughing.

She was screaming and laughing so hard.

Katie wanted to have some fun on Dad's shoulders too.
So Craig took another loop around.

So he decided she would get to take the same route Alexys took.
She loved it! So did Jetta. =)

Alexys Upper Valley Idol

Turning 16

She is turning 16!
I have a hard time thinking of her as anything but my baby girl but the reality if it is she is growing up. First driving and now dating. Before I know it she will be leaving for college and I'm not sure I will handle that very well. I watched my friend today get ready to send her baby off and I cried for her. How will I do it when it's my own?
Here are a couple pictures of her when she was a baby. It is not hard for me to wake up some mornings and think this is who I will see running down the stairs.

Age about 4 hours old

Age 3 months

Age 4 months

Age 6 months

age 10 months throwing attitude at her doll.

Age 23 months with her big beautiful blue eyes.

Age 4 years

Everything in between this age and now is such a blur. She has been such a great kid and always so beautiful and funny. I really have a hard time wrapping my brain around the fact that I'll be lucky to have 2 more years of her living under my roof. She will go great places and I love her more every day.

Age 15

♥Happy Birthday Alexys!!♥

Cougars at State!!

State Wrestling is this weekend in Boise!!
So of course so are we. =)
I'm not sure when I became a fan of this sport but I must say I do love it.
We have 8 boys from our school here and 3 were put out yesterday (Thursday).
We have some great kids fighting for a State title and I think a few of them have a great chance at pulling it off.
Here are a few of them below. The last one is of a pin made this morning by the only boy from our school that has not lost yet. The rest all lost their first round and out of the 7 that lost the first, 4 of them won their second round so they are still in and have a chance. If they win their matches today they will at least medal. Anyway I will stop boring you with all the details.
I'll post some pictures of Katie later.
Poor Alexys stayed home sick. We hope she feels better soon.
Have a great weekend!!

There is no doubt this was a pin. He had to hold him like this for like 5 second longer than necessary because the ref didn't have a clear view. Good for me though because I had a chance to get a shot of it with my camera.=)

Dog Derby

We went to Ashton Saturday morning and watched the sleds leave for the second leg of their race. They are very active and loud! It was fun to watch. It was a bit cold with the wind blowing but not too bad. Here are some of the dogs and Craig and Katie.

Sorry I only had my phone with me for taking pictures.

This was a good looking group.

One of the Juniors going out. Only 2 dogs.

Katie was still happy to be here in this picture.

This group was moving right from the start. They were ready to run.

She wanted to leave by this picture. It was too cold for her.

Another Junior racer with 3 dogs.

Just thought I would share!
Have a great day!

♥Valentines Day 2011♥

So on Valentine's Day Katie went in and picked up her new hearing aide!! She only has the left one for now and it is PURPLE!! She is doing really well with it so far. She like to wear it. That kind of tells us just how much she was missing out on before. But we have high hopes for her progress now. I think that talking will be in the not so distant future and that would be great! She gets the right hearing aide in a few weeks and it will be red. We are excited to see what is to come. =)
(♥Please take note of the five songs on my Blog Soundtrack that all have the word hear in them. hehe ♥)

Happy to show off the hearing aide.

Closer look.
It is molded to the exact shape of her ear. But it's clear so not very noticeable.

Even closer look!

It's a pretty dark purple. I like it.=)

And of course it was Valentines Day and this is what I came home to.
Love you Craig!!

Audition!

(This is the picture we took for her head shot.)

Alexys was forced by her parents to try out for the Upper Valley Idol tonight. She did a great job and I believe she enjoyed herself regardless of what she said before we left for the auditions.

She has a wonderful voice and we want her to feel comfortable sharing it with others. We felt this was a great opportunity for her. We told her she didn't have to go any further than tonight's performance but we hope if she is chosen to go on that she will take this chance to enjoy herself.

Hope you enjoy this small segment.

Katie is 9!!

Today Katie turned 9! It's hard to believe but it's true.
She barely looks 6 maybe 7. Such a cutie!!
I got up early today and I got a strong feeling that I needed to decorate the kitchen before she woke up. I was going to do it after school but I decided there must be a reason for my feeling. Was there ever!!
When I went upstairs to wake her up she was out like a light. When I said wake up Birthday girl she jumped out of bed before her eyes opened. She then proceeded to excitedly tell me to follow her. I was a bit surprised because she was acting as if Santa might have come again. I hoped she would not be disappointed that there were no gift out yet. She zigzagged down the hall and was just getting her eyes opened all the way as she
practically ran down the stairs. I was sure she was going to go flying to the bottom and we would be making a trip to the E.R. Luckily she made it down unharmed.
When she reached the bottom she let out a loud gasp and then began to cheer. She at some point in time had decided that on the morning of her Birthday that the kitchen would be decorated with streamers and balloons.
I'm sure glad that I followed that prompting.
Small things do matter.

Her Birthday Friend

She had a pretty good day.
She got some money in a few cards for her Birthday and so we took her to Walmart to buy herself some things with it. She is a very good bargain shopper! She had $30 to spend and she was able to get herself a pair of pants, a shirt, 2 movies (Little Rascals & Fantastic Four) , and a game (Don't spill the beans)!! And she still managed to have $1.50 left over.
I'm so proud!!

This is her blowing out her candle.
You may notice her bangs are moving but the flame is still lit.
Also there was some definite showers flying around.

This is her dancing after the candle went out.
She was pretty excited about it being an ice cream cake again.
Can I just say it's hard to get a picture of her when she is not this excited.
This is a great camera to get anything that isn't a huge blur. =)

She is so easy to please!
Craig giving her a piece of her ice cream cake.

She just opened her DVD from Grandma Housley. She hugged it after I snapped this picture. Funny girl!

She wasn't sure what this was at first but it didn't stop her from being very excited.

She is checking it out.....

She realized what it was.
A tent for her bed!!

Katie and Alexys checking out the new bed tent!!
She actually sleeps on a double bed so we just put this on a twin mattress on the floor.

Katie is such a great girl!! We love her and are grateful she is in our family.
We have been very blessed.
I hope you enjoyed this Birthday post!!

Christmas and New Years!

I don't have any pictures from Christmas morning because of course my new camera was wrapped and under the tree!! But I did take some pictures after I got it figured out. I will only post a couple because there are way to many to count.
I hope you all had a great Holiday and I send you my wish for a Happy New Year!!

Grandma and Grandpa Housley and Womack came over for Christmas. Housley's stayed over night and Womack came for Breakfast and dinner.
Of course they insisted Alexys sing for them. Here she is with Grandma Womack playing for her.
She sang I'll Be Home For Christmas. It was very good. =)

Katie in her new pj's and her new Weebles tree house.
She loved all her gifts!!

For New Years we went up to West Yellowstone and stayed at a hotel. We left on New Years Day. They have a nice hot tub and pool there. We have stayed here before and quite like it. Also they have a great Breakfast!
This is the girls swimming!

Dinner at the Gusher pizza place.

And this is from today. (1-5-11)
Any of you that are from St.Anthony may want to know that the Roxy is trying to open again. So come up and give them your support!
The new Narnia will be showing there!!
We are going!
Bowling and movies back in town!
I love it!

New camera!!

So I guess you would expect to see some pictures on this post right?? Me too!! Unfortunately my new camera is not working with my 6 year old computer. Strange I know. I have taken my computer to a guy to have it looked at. I have high hopes that when It comes home it will run like a champ and that I will be back in the game of Blogging. Craig got me a Nikon p100. It is a lot like my old Sony but it has more pixels and more zoom. 26x zoom will be a lot of fun to play with. I struggled with what camera to get so I am glad Craig made the decision in the end. I still dream of my camera coming home to me but until then I have an awesome new camera!! Thanks Craig for making my Christmas morning wonderful!! Not that it would have been less wonderful with a less expensive gift. =) I will post some pictures when I get everything up and running.

Most of you that read this Blog know that 13 years ago today was the day our son Blake left to serve his mission. I have listened to some dear friends of mine talk of their sons leaving on their missions in this life and also watched my nephew Nathan leave for his in Peru. It makes me sad and happy at the same time. My son's mission is a little longer than theirs will be but I know it's where he is suppose to be. It's how his life was suppose to go. I see kids that are turning 14 now and I wonder what he might look like or what kind of person he would be. Who would he be friends with? What kinds of movies or music would he love? Would he and Alexys fight all the time or be the best of friends. Probably both. =)

Losing Blake is one of the hardest things we have ever gone through. We are blessed to have had Alexys in our lives through it all. She most definitely saved us from ourselves. Katie coming into our lives has also been a huge blessing. What wonderful kids I have been blessed with. I wanted to share some pictures of my boy with you today so you could see how beautiful he is. I know he is a grown and busy man on the other side but this is the boy I remember and love.

I know we will see him again. I know that God loves us all and that every trial we go through in this life is made to make us stronger if we choose to let it not break us down. I send my heart and prayers out to any this Christmas that are remembering a loved one they have lost. I know it hurts but don't ever stop remembering the ones that are still here. We are so lucky to have the restored Gospel and a Prophet on the earth today to guide and direct us. It's easy to get caught up in our sorrows and forget just how blessed we are as a nation and as a community. I love where I live and love to be so close to those that believe the same things I do. I love my three kids!! They are all as good as kids can get. My husband is a wonderful hard working man that has a big heart. Sometimes we lose perspective on things but we always come back to the reality of what we have and share. I love him more than I could ever express. I have wonderful parents and siblings. They are an example to me every day. We are always there for each other and what a comfort that is to know they are there to listen or to lend a hand when we need them the most. I have been truly blessed in my life and I thank my Father in Heaven for that every day. I hope you all are as blessed as me. I know if you stop and think about it you will find that you are.

Merry Christmas!!

Alexys age 2 Blake age 10 months.
